Adriaan van Liempt, PhD works as a teacher and researcher in sociology, methodology, and data science at the Academy Leisure & Events (BUas). He is a sociologist by background, and historically his research areas have included work, care and law. His current areas of research include leisure behaviour, consumer experience and impact in the cultural industry with a focus on museums and heritage tourism. His academic interests are defined by institutional economics, social history, social stratification and mobility, bio-social interactions and social comparison.
Van Liempt has owned a software development company for over 20 years, and as a programming, data and modelling nerd, he enjoys developments in the fields of data science and machine learning.
